Industry Clusters Update
Thank you for your interest! Effective May 17, 2013, administration of the Clean Energy Cluster will be transitioned from the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County (EDC) over to the Fresno State Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED).
The EDC has been administering the Clean Energy and Logistics & Distribution Clusters since 2008 under the previous Regional Jobs Initiative. With your continued support and dedication, the Clean Energy Cluster is one of the most active Clusters out of the original 12. Over the past several years, the Cluster has brought more than 100 businesses in Fresno County to our informational events and meetings. Also, with the generous support of our event sponsors, we have been able to meet our goal of growing the Clean Energy Cluster, so that it may facilitate the growth, viability, and visibility of clean energy in the production, manufacturing, education, and public sectors.
As we transition administration over to OCED, the EDC will continue to remain a champion in supporting our local clean energy industry. We believe that OCED has the ability and resources, along with its San Joaquin Valley Regional Industry Cluster Initiative (RICI), to take the lead in administering and expanding the scope of the Clean Energy Cluster under the leadership of Daryl Baltazar, Cluster Chair. Guided by a recent Cluster Analysis commissioned by OCED and the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, RICI aims to bring together resources and service providers with private sector businesses throughout the San Joaquin Valley, from Kern to San Joaquin counties, to make for a more prosperous regional economy.
